| I've heard people talking about "DAW". What is a DAW?
|
| The term "DAW" (digital audio workstation)
refers to a tape-less, computer-based system. While most home computers with multitrack and editing software can function somewhat as a DAW, the term generally refers to computer systems which have professional audio software and high-quality external ADC-DAC
hardware. |
| I have recorded my
tracks on Ableton Live . Can I bring the tracks to Tinman?

| Sure!
We can deal with most file types. We should be
able to import your files into our software,
Cubase SX, in a matter of minutes. We can also provide
you with different file formats so that you can import
these back into your original project.

| Although
I'm quite satisfied with what I've recorded, I would be
even happier if I could have a real musician play on my
tracks. Can you help?

We are in regular contact with numerous professional
musicians and singers.

| What are Software Plugins?
|
Software Plugins are software emulations of analog
hardware, for example, effects processors, mixing and mastering tools, as well as software based synthesizers, samplers etc. These are computer applications that run inside a "host" application like Cubase
SX.

Digital Mastering |

What is
digital mastering and why is it necessary? Digital mastering
is a process which converts raw audio into a professional product.
Tinman Studios now uses the award-winning Sony Sound Forge™ digital audio editor to digitally master your CD and quickly get from raw audio to the finished master. The finished audio is then imported into Sony CD Architect™ our professional application for mastering and burning Red Book audio CDs.

The vocal soundtrack for the new Portuguese
Kinder Egg television commercial was produced
and recorded at Tinman Studios at the end of last month.
Tinman was commissioned by Tresor Music Publishing, who are
based in Madrid, Spain.

language company with a production center in Europe
