About Tinman Sound Recording Studios

Tinman Sound Recording Studios was founded by award winning songwriter and record producer, Mike Myers in the UK in 1989. The studio was moved to Portugal in 2003. Originally located in Poço Barreto, Silves, the studio moved to it's current location in April 2009.

From the most prestigious music productions to simple live band recordings and song composition, Tinman helps you to create the kind of music that people love to listen to. Our vast industry experience and digital audio facilities continue to help maintain the art of creative writing and have earned us numerous awards, including 2 Ivor Novello ® nominations and a host of others.

Like our clients, we are artists, musicians, composers and record producers. Our Sound Recording Engineers and Record Producers, have professional backgrounds in audio. We draw on all of this knowledge to help our clients achieve their creative vision – however they define it. 

And why Cubase vs. Pro Tools, Logic and other DAW's? For Mike Myers, Steinberg Cubase has long been a part of Tinman Studio’s creative process. “Most of the songs are brought to us on Cubase setups. I still use Cubase on my Laptop setup to demo ideas,” he says. “Tracks generally begin on a client's Project Studio setup, either a basic sketch or something that's ready to be moved into the studio. These are then quickly dropped into to our Cubase system, where we help develop them further. It’s a very streamlined, organized system. Cubase is the natural choice, especially for those of our European clients.
